Why a scoreboard works
Most teams agree that reviews matter, then forget to ask during a busy shift. A visible scoreboard fixes that. People like seeing their name move up, and a quick look at the board before a shift is a gentle reminder to mention their QR code.
It also brings hidden heroes into view. The night porter, the weekday server and the new hygienist often deliver some of the best experiences, and a leaderboard gives them credit they would otherwise never get.
What Review Scoreboard tracks
Every teammate gets a personal QR code and short link. For each person and each location, the dashboard shows:
- Scans: how many customers opened their review page.
- Review taps: how many tapped Copy and open Google to post a review.
- Average rating: the stars customers chose on the page.
Google does not share when a review is actually posted, so we label these honestly as review taps. You can filter by month and by location, and a top three podium highlights the leaders.
Keep it fair and friendly
A leaderboard should feel like a team game, not pressure. A few simple habits help:
- Reset the focus every month so new starters have a real chance.
- Compare people within the same location and role where you can.
- Celebrate team totals as well as individual winners.
- Use feedback in the private inbox for coaching, never for blame.
Recognise the team, never the customer
You can set a short message on the board, such as a shout-out for the month's top teammate, and decide how you want to recognise great service inside your business. What you must never do is offer customers anything for a review, or ask staff to steer unhappy customers away from Google. On every Review Scoreboard page, customers can always post publicly whatever rating they give.
Staff should also never write reviews themselves or ask friends to do so. The leaderboard only rewards real conversations with real customers.

Common questions
Does the leaderboard count posted Google reviews?
Google does not tell businesses when a review is posted, so we count review taps: each time a customer taps Copy and open Google from a teammate's page.
Can I reward my staff?
Recognising your own team for great service is up to you. Just never offer customers anything for a review.
Ready to give every teammate their own QR code?
Review Scoreboard is free to use. Set up your first location in a few minutes.
